Clubs and Organizations

The variety of clubs and organizations on campus allows you to explore existing interests — and discover new passions. Through academic and professional student clubs, you make meaningful social connections with your peers. Intramural sports and outdoor recreation activities sponsored through ±«±··¡â€™s Finley Recreation Center are opportunities to engage in friendly competition and explore the great state of Maine.

Wellness and Recreation

As you might expect on a campus devoted to the health sciences, we take wellness seriously. Student, employee, and community wellness are our goals. Whether you have concerns about your emotional or physical health — or if you just want some tips on feeling your best — the Health and Wellness Education Department at Finley Rec is here to assist you.

Student Wellness Opportunities

±«±··¡â€™s Finley Recreation Center is your hub for all your fitness and wellness needs.

Intramurals

Intramural sports are a great opportunity to participate in friendly competition, connect with other 51С»Æ³µcommunity members, hone your skills at a sport or two, and have some fun while doing it. Teams play in weekly sessions or small tournaments. A variety of intramurals are offered each semester.

Outdoor Recreation

The student-led Outdoor Adventure Club and the Finley Recreation Center co-sponsor trips such as whitewater rafting, hiking, rock/ice climbing, ski/snowboarding, and annual camping trips to Acadia. Are you new to outdoor pursuits? Beginner trips are offered frequently.

Student Fitness Challenge

The Student Fitness Challenge is a Portland Campus incentive program aimed at encouraging you to exercise 150 or more minutes per week. Held every semester, the friendly interprofessional competition pits you and your academic program against other programs, with winners receiving Finley Recreation Center swag such as apparel, hats, towels, and bags.

Olympics

Participate in our ongoing Student Olympics challenge during specially designated periods each semester. Set a set semester record and win a T-shirt. Set an all-time campus record, and your name is immortalized on the oversized record board inside the Finley Recreation Center.
